WHEREAS, Carol Coultas is a retired Executive Vice President on Communication Workers of America (CWA) Local 13500; and
WHEREAS, Carol Coultas has been involved with the CWA as an officer for over 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Carol Coultas began her career as a Long Distance Telephone Operator for Bell Telephone Company; and
WHEREAS, Carol Coultas has always remained committed to the labor movement, the improvement of the working family and the rights of retirees and seniors; and
WHEREAS, Carol Coultas is most of all the loving wife of Ronald for over 40 years, mother of daughter Bernadette and son-in-law George, and grandmother to David and Emily - always a great and loving family woman; and
WHEREAS, the health and vitality of the City of Pittsburgh is reflected in the great leadership Carol Coultas exemplifies towards improving the quality of life for all working people in Western Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, on Friday, April 20, 2012, at the Allegheny County Labor Council Banquet, Carol Coultas is being honored as Labor's 2012 Woman of the Year, for her continued service;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend and congratulate Carol Coultas on being named Labor's 2012 Woman of the Year by the Allegheny County Labor Council, and does hereby declare April 20, 2012, to be " Carol Coultas - Labor's 2012 Woman of the Year Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
