WHEREAS, Andrew Allen has been the proprietor of Showcase Barbeque in Homewood for five years; and
WHEREAS, since the inception of the Homewood/Squirrel Hill Redd Up Coalition, Andrew Allen has provided the Homewood Redd Up Coalition with food that has fed approximately four hundred volunteers; and
WHEREAS, the Homewood/Squirrel Hill Redd Up Coalition Weekend began in 2006 as a two neighborhood program focused on litter cleanup guided by the principles of Collecting (litter) and Connecting (establishing relationships) as Squirrel Hill, a predominately white, Jewish community partnered with Homewood, a predominately black, Christian community to plan and carry out a litter cleanup; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Allen has also distributed fliers in Showcase Barbeque regarding the Homewood/Squirrel Hill Redd Up Coalition; and
WHEREAS, Andrew Allen has been an avid supporter of the Homewood community and the Homewood Redd Up Coalition.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does herby commend Andrew Allen of Showcase Barbeque for his dedication to the Homewood Community.
