Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby join his congregation and the community in celebrating Founder's Day on August 8, 2004 of the beloved pastor of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Reverend Loran E. Mann.

Whereas, Reverend Loran E. Mann currently serves as the Senior Pastor of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ; and

Whereas, the Reverend, having been educated at the University of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, is exceptionally knowledgeable in religious and worldly matters, which benefits those in his congregation and community who look to him for leadership; and

Whereas, 35 years ago Reverend Loran E. Mann was appointed pastor of the First Baptist Church of Braddock and hence began his pastoral ministry; and

Whereas, in 1971 Reverend Mann founded Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, which now has a congregation of several hundred families; and

Whereas, Reverend Loran E. Mann extended his pastoral ministry into the broadcasting industry, and was therefore able to preach his message to a great many listeners. Under his leadership, Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ owns and operates the radio station WGBN AM 1150. This station broadcast the Reverend's weekday radio program "Daily Bread" and his weekly program "Sunday with Christ" which are acclaimed as two of the top-rated religious broadcasts in the Tri-State area.

Whereas, Reverend Loran E. Mann was appointed on April 16th, 2001, as Commissioner of Television for the Church of God in Christ, one of the world's largest and fastest-growing Pentecostal denominations; and

Whereas, Reverend Mann is married to Barbara Mann, who is an integral part of the ministry of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ; and

Whereas, Reverend Loran E. Mann provides exemplary spiritual leadership not only for Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, but also the Greater Pittsburgh Region.
