WHEREAS, Jim and Pearl Sheppard will quietly celebrate their 50^th wedding anniversary October 24, 2020 while social distancing with loved ones; and,

Body

WHEREAS, Pearl Rexa and Jim Sheppard, both raised by loving parents, met and started dating in 1963 while attending St. Joseph Catholic High School located in Mt. Oliver; and

WHEREAS, the high school sweethearts were married in St. Joseph Catholic Church on October 24, 1970 where they celebrated their union with family and friends; and,

WHEREAS, in 1986, Pearl and Jim welcomed their son Jimmy into the world; and,

WHEREAS, both Jim and Pearl were hard-working individuals and are enjoying their retirement in Brookline neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh, where they have lived since 1998; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby congratulate Jim and Pearl Sheppard on their 50^th Wedding Anniversary and wish them many more to come; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Saturday, October 24, 2020 to be “Jim and Pearl Sheppard Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
