WHEREAS, Ernie Sciulli and his family, wife Kristen and his children Ernie and Annabelle reside in the neighborhood of Westwood and are avid volunteers in their community as well as other Pittsburgh neighborhoods; and,
WHEREAS, they have all volunteered with the Westwood/Oakwood Athletic Association at some capacity, either as a board member, coaching, assistant coaching, working in the stand , fundraising, and/or helping with tournaments; and,
WHEREAS, in addition, the entire family has participated in various Neighborhood Clean-ups, plantings, and various events including the planning and clean-up of the annual neighborhood block party; and,
WHEREAS, Ernie coached Elliott Soccer during the years his children played in the organization and was a founding board member of D2 Hockey, only recently resigning, but is still coaching D2 Hockey and helping in any way he can such as dek maintenance, running the scoreboard, or fundraising just to name a few; and,
WHEREAS, in addition, Mr. Sciulli helped with the formation of the South West Pittsburgh CDC, formerly known as the West End Alliance; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Mr. Ernie Sciulli and his family for the exceptional volunteer work they do for the City of Pittsburgh and its residents; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, February 9, 2016, to be “Sciulli Family Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
