WHEREAS Vickie Grigsby has been the First Lady of Central Baptist Church since she and her husband, Rev. Victor Grigsby became Pastor and First Lady of the Church on December 6, 1996; and
WHEREAS First Lady Grigsby is the leader of the Women's Ministry and teaches Sunday School to Central Baptist's Youth Department; and
WHEREAS as First Lady, she exemplifies her leadership ability by giving guidance to all who seek her. She is very reachable and makes time for everyone. Ms. Grigsby has been blessed with the ability to reach across all age barriers as a bridge builder to connect with all generations and relates to them on all levels; and
WHEREAS to the Central Baptist family, she exemplifies the character of what every First Lady should represent and is truly genuine in her love and service to the Lord.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby wish to thank First Lady Vickie Grigsby for over a decade of service to the Central Baptist Church and her spiritual and civic contributions to the greater Hill District community by declaring May 9, 2009 "First Lady Vickie L. Grigsby Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
