Title: A Resolution conveying a sense of Council to the Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh and to the members of the press and the citizens of the City of Pittsburgh that should the Downtown Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel be sold, all effort must be made to assure that the sales agreement include a clause that the new owner must respect the current existing contracts with all workers, and that all consideration must be given by the new owner to hiring the current employees; and that this sense of Council may be put forth by all concerned parties in encouraging the good faith negotiation of any contract. WHEREAS, the Downtown Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel has seen some stressful times recently; and WHEREAS, Pittsburghers' interests always rank high in this Council's purview, including their welfare and employment and concerns for the good of their families;

WHEREAS, the Downtown Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel has seen some stressful times recently; and
 
WHEREAS, Pittsburghers' interests always rank high in this Council's purview, including their welfare and employment and concerns for the good of their families;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that it is the sense of this Council that should the Downtown Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel be sold, all effort must be made to assure that the sales agreement include a clause that the new owner must respect the current existing contracts with all workers, and that all consideration must be given by the new owner to hiring the current employees; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this sense of Council be conveyed to the Mayor of the City of Pittsburgh and to the members of the press, and may be put forth by all concerned parties in encouraging the good faith negotiation of any contract.
