Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognize the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh to be a civic and/or service organization within the context of the Pennsylvania Small Games of Chance Act, as amended.

WHEREAS, the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh is a nonprofit organization; and,

 

WHEREAS, for over 80 years, the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh has been the leading forum to ensure that the Pittsburgh region has a dynamic international presence; and,

 

WHEREAS, as the city continues to become more vibrant and sustainable, our organization’s role is even more significant.  The World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh is a platform that connects Pittsburgh to the world to ensure a more diverse and inclusive future for the city; and,

 

WHEREAS, the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh helps build bridges among Pittsburgh’s businesses, young and mid-career professionals, students, educators, and community members; and,

 

WHEREAS, the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh plays a vital role in shaping Pittsburgh’s global identity by engaging our schools and community in international politics, finance, science, sustainability, culture, and the arts; and,
