Title: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does, herby, commend and congratulate the Citiparks Community Services Staff for their efforts to promote Healthy Active Independent Living and for all they do to make Pittsburgh one of the most livable cities, anywhere, for residents aged 60 and over.

WHEREAS, the Citiparks Community Services Staff fulfills their mission to provide opportunities for Healthy Active Independent Living, by organizing and conducting the Citiparks Summer Games, which provide recreation, social networking and friendly competition among Pittsburgh's 60+ population;  and
 
WHEREAS, the 2010 Citiparks Summer Games marks the 29th consecutive year for the games and over the years more than 14,000 Pittsburghers have participated in games such as, Archery, Bocce, Bowling, Line Casting, Darts, Basketball, Frisbee Golf, Horseshoes, Kooshball, Pool, Softball Throw, Shuffleboard, a Walk-a-Thon and for the first time Wii Bowling; and
 
WHEREAS, this year, there were 331 participants with 189 medal winners, the top winners in their age groups are:  Ages 60-69 - Duke Winkowski (South Side) -11 medals;  Rosemarie Wilczynski (Lawrenceville) 11 medals;  Ages 70-79 - Richard Barton (Lawrenceville) and Don Gearhart (Lawrenceville) each with 7 medals; Joan Eisenbarth (South Side) 7 medals;  Ages 80-89 - Robert Baker (Castle Shannon) - 9 medals; Cristel Krausse (Morningside) and Mary Szulborski (Lawrenceville) each with 9 medals; and
