Title: BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, October 2, 2012, to be “The Open Door Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, The Open Door Youth Outreach Center located in Crafton Heights is celebrating its 25th Year Anniversary this year; and,
 
WHEREAS, The Open Door exists to provide a safe place where people can come and have fun surrounded by the family of God; and,
 
WHEREAS, through free programs such as Friday Night Recreation, an after-school program, soccer club, small group mentoring, youth group and a summer camp, the Open Door has served more than 200 youth annually; and,
 
WHEREAS, in addition to providing services at the center, The Open Door hosts events for both youth and the community outside of its doors;  such as clean-up days, street fairs and bowl-a-thons; and,    
 
WHEREAS, The Open Door will be celebrating its 25th year anniversary at the LeMont Restaurant on October 7th with a dinner banquet; and,           
 
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend The Open Door for its 25 years of service to our youth and West End communities; and,
