The Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:

Section 1.                     The Pittsburgh Code, Title One - Administrative, Article XI - Personnel, Chapter 191 - Retirement, Section 191.06 - Compulsory Retirement, is hereby amended and supplemented as follows:

§ 191.06 - COMPULSORY RETIREMENT.

(a.)                     Each firefighter [man and policeman] who attains the age of sixty-five (65) years shall retire from service. The term[s "fireman" and "policeman" mean] “firefighter”[s and police officers and] shall not include the Fire Chief or the Superintendent of Police.

(b.)                      Each police officer who attains the age of seventy (70) years shall retire from service. The term “police officer” shall not include the Chief of Police.
