Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation to enter into a Sponsorship Agreement for Steel City Blast @ Grandview and the CommUnity Concert series for one (1) year at no cost to the City.

WHEREAS, the City hosts a CommUnity Concert series in various parks or neighborhoods; and

 

WHEREAS, Citiparks presents Steel City Blast @ Grandview as part of City of Pittsburgh Independence Day festivities, which celebrates our Nation’s history and independence, and attracts attendees from around the region and tri-state area; and

 

WHEREAS, Duquesne Brewing Company desires to provide the City with a financial donation to support Steel City Blast @ Grandview on July 4th and the CommUnity Concert series, and the parties wish to enter into a supporting sponsorship agreement, therefore:

 

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation are authorized to enter into a supporting sponsorship agreement with Duquesne Brewing Company for Steel City Blast @ Grandview and the CommUnity Concert series. The fee due from Duquesne Brewing Company for this purpose is Twenty Thousand Dollars ($20,000.00), to be paid to the Treasurer, City of Pittsburgh, and deposited into the following account: JDE 5000731400.48106.00

 

Section 2.                     The presenting sponsorship agreement may also include a Right of First Refusal for Duquesne Brewing Company to enter into further negotiations with the City to continue its sponsorship status in a similar capacity, subject to further negotiations by the parties and legislative authorization, as applicable.

 

Section 3.                     The supporting sponsorship agreement must be approved by the Solicitor as to form and substance.
