WHEREAS, on Wednesday, May 24, 2006 the Langley Mustangs, coached by Leo Rauterkus and assisted by Jason Couples, DJ Sammel, Bob Briet and Mike Malle, won the 2006 City League Championship when they "slayed" the Allderdice Dragons at PNC Park by a score of 5 to 1; and
WHEREAS, with Head Coach Leo Rauterkus and staff's hard work and dedication to the baseball program and players, Langley was able to return the "City League Championship Trophy" back to the home of the mustangs; and
WHEREAS, with 17 wins and 5 losses the 2006 Mustangs reclaimed the school's City League Baseball Championship for the second time in 4 years due to the outstanding performance of all involved both players and coaches; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh congratulates the Players and Coaches of Langley High School for an outstanding 2006 Baseball season and winning the City League Championship.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that June 6, 2006 is declared "Langley Mustang Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
