WHEREAS, Dr. Delgado is hosting the 53rd annual meeting of the Society of Pelvic Surgeons in Pittsburgh; and

                     WHEREAS, The Society of Pelvic Surgeons was formed in 1951 to further the free and informal exchange of ideas relative to the management of pelvic surgeons, and to influence the teaching and practice of pelvic surgery for the betterment of physician trainees and patients; and

                     WHEREAS, It's membership is diverse, including leaders from the surgical subspecialties of urology, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, general surgery, colorectal surgery and surgical oncology.  This multidisciplinary approach provides a rare opportunity for exchange among these various specialists; and

                     WHEREAS, Topics to be covered include the future of surgery for breast cancer, updates on therapeutic options for ovarian cancer, and new approaches to hysterectomy.

                     NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh commends and thanks Dr. Delgado for his advocacy of women's health and welfare and for providing them with a sound outlook on their health choices.
