• Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend ALCOSAN for its 9th year of educating the public about the environment and honor Willard Jefferson, Florine Graham and Robert Chatham for their dedication and commitment to service; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, September 13, 2011, to be “ALCOSAN Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, ALCOSAN is celebrating its 9^th consecutive Open House on Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; and,

WHEREAS, ALCOSAN's Open House is the region's largest watershed and environmental festival, which features tours of the treatment plant and laboratory, microbiology and watershed life presentations, hands-on environmental activities and exhibits, games, food and fun for all ages; and,

WHEREAS, ALCOSAN would not be able to have an award-winning event without award-winning employees three of whom we would like to acknowledge who have been with ALCOSAN for over 40 years; and,

WHEREAS, Willard Jefferson began with ALCOSAN in 1965 putting in his 46^th year and is currently in the Department of Environmental Compliance; and,    

WHEREAS, Florine Graham has been with ALCOSAN since 1970 completing 41 years of service and is currently in the Department of Engineering; and,

WHEREAS, Robert Chatham has been with ALCOSAN since 1970 completing 41 years of service and is currently in the Department of Maintenance; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend ALCOSAN for its 9^th year of educating the public about the environment and honor Willard Jefferson, Florine Graham and Robert Chatham for their dedication and commitment to service; and,
