Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh salutes the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project for advancing issues important to the young population of the Pittsburgh region so well for the past 10 years and for making a demonstrable impact on the attraction and retention of the region's young population. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh declares June 10th, 2005 "PUMP Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh Urban Magnet Project (PUMP) was established in 1995 by a small group of young people dedicated to making Pittsburgh a more exciting home for people their age, creating a momentum that has led to a movement of over 1,100 young PUMP members working hard to make Pittsburgh a better place to live; and
 
WHEREAS, in the last 10 years, PUMP has created numerous programs and opportunities for young professionals to become engaged in the Pittsburgh community, including M-Squared, 40 Under 40, the Pittsburgh Sports League, political debates, Flicks on Bricks, and ImPAct, the first-ever statewide young professionals conference; and
 
WHEREAS; a celebration called PUMP 10.0: A Decade of Impact, will be held on Friday, June 10, 2005 at 121 Seventh Street, 6th Floor Downtown to celebrate 10 years of positive growth and positive impact on the Pittsburgh region:
