Title

Resolution further amending resolution 413 of 2020, which authorized the Mayor and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget to enter into a Cooperation Agreement or Agreements relating to the shared operation and administration of the City of Pittsburgh Child Care Quality Fund, by extending the term through 2025 at no further cost to the City.

 

Body

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh:

 

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a Cooperation Agreement or Agreements with Allegheny County, on behalf of the Allegheny County Department of Human Services, for the shared operation and administration of the Child Care Quality Fund for a period of two (2) years from the opening of the fund, through December 31, 2024 2025, in an amount not to exceed Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) and for the payment of the costs thereof.  The Alliance for Infants and Toddlers and Trying Together may be added as additional parties to the Cooperation Agreement or may contract directly with Allegheny County to document their roles in the ELRC’s shared operation and administration of the Child Care Quality Fund.  Administrative Costs to the ELRC for the shared operation and administration of the fund may not exceed ten percent (10%) of the fund.

 

Section 2.                     The authorized Agreement or Agreements shall be approved by the City Solicitor as to form.

 

Section 3.                     The final language of the Cooperation Agreement between the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County shall require an advisory committee to monitor the Child Care Quality Fund.  The advisory committee will be composed of representative’s city departments and subject matter experts from the City of Pittsburgh.
