WHEREAS, Nicholas H. Romah, Jr. Colonel, U.S. Marine Corps (Retired) served as a Fighter Pilot in the United States Marine Corps from 1970 to 1995; and,

WHEREAS, Colonel Romah flew the F-4 Phantom and F-18 Hornet. He served 13 months in Southeast Asia, followed by a tour aboard the USS Forrestal Aircraft Carrier, and numerous deployments throughout his career. He had the honor and privilege of graduating from Navy Fighter Weapons School-Top Gun, and subsequently was selected as the Commanding Officer of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron VMFA 321 at Andrews Air Force Base; and,
WHEREAS, after that tour, Mr. Romah was afforded the opportunity to command Marine Air Wing 46, a composite air group of Fighter, Attack, Aerial Tankers, and various helicopter squadrons at USMC Air Station, El Toro, California, as the Group Commanding Officer; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to his military career, Nicholas spent 29 years as an airline pilot and retired from US Airways in 2007. In 1981, Nicholas founded Three Rivers Limousine Service, a contract transportation company for airline flight crews only. The business is family owned and has been operational for over 42 years; and,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Mr. Nicholas Romah and thank him for his bravery and selfless service to the United States of America; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare, Saturday, November 12, 2022 to be “Nicholas Romah Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
