Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, declares May 30, 2006 "Allderdice DECA Day," and calls upon all city residents to celebrate the program's success and wish our young friends the best of luck in their future business endeavors.

Whereas, marketing education is a program of instruction for high school students in various fields of business, including merchandising, marketing management, and entrepreneurship; and
 
Whereas, marketing education provides our future business leaders with practical experience in the American free enterprise system and introduces them to fundamental principles of sound leadership; and
 
Whereas, DECA is an association of marketing students designed to enhance students' vocational understanding, civic consciousness, social intelligence, and leadership development skills; and
 
Whereas, the 2006 Allderdice DECA program, under the guidance of business teacher Brandy Ralston, enjoyed tremendous success in competition, receiving 47 out of the 78 places at the District Competition, 10 winners at the State level,  and sending 5 students to DECA Nationals in Dallas, Texas; and
 
Whereas, we welcome DECA members Russ Bush, Nick Camerlengo, Tyler Graham, Allison McClain, and Nina Pacifico to Council today and commend them on their outstanding accomplishments this year; and
