• Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Pittsburgh commends and thanks the organizers, artists, sponsors, and supporters of Artists For Hope; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares Sunday, January 30, 2005 “Artists For Hope Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, over 212,000 people have died and countless more are injured, homeless, and hungry, as a result of the tragic tsunami that hit South-East Asia on December 26th; and

WHEREAS, Christiane D Leach, Staycee Walters, Janera Solomon, Leslie Anne Mcilroy, City Paper, and others have joined together to organize the Artists For Hope show on Sunday, January 30^th, from 4-11 PM at the Shadow Lounge; and

WHEREAS, dozens of local bands, video artists, poets, DJs, dancers, slam poets, and other artists are all joining together to raise funds to aid the children that have been victimized by this disaster; and

WHEREAS, 100% of the proceeds will be going to support UNICEF and their mission to protect, support, and advocate for children across the globe.
