Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of the Department of Personnel and Civil Service Commission, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, are hereby authorized to enter into a Contract or Contracts, in a form approved by the City Solicitor: ACTECSYSTEMS INC (Actec) shall provide on-going in-take call services for reporting of on-the-job accidents, injuries and/or illnesses to CITY employees under the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act. Actec shall serve as the first contact for City employees reporting of injuries. Actec will complete the state-mandated Workers' Compensation forms and will electronically submit such forms to the Frank Gates Service Company on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh. All calls made to Actec are live-answered on a 24/7 basis. Actec will collect all the injury data required under the Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act and will direct the employee regarding the next steps involved in his/her claim. Actec will also maintain, in a secure location, copies of all of the City's reports of accident as a back up to the files currently maintained by Gates. As agreed upon in the contract made between the City of Pittsburgh and ActecSystems Inc. on January 1, 2005, Actec will provide these services at a cost not to exceed Twenty Thousand Dollars ($ 20,000) chargeable to and payable from Code Account 44-9, Employee Expense Workers' Compensation Program Medical, Index Code 004499, Account 571100, Fund 817...
