WHEREAS, The City of Pittsburgh is honored to host for the first time the Church of God in Christ National Bishop Conference which will be headquartered at The William Penn Hotel, September 18-21, 2006; and
WHEREAS, Church of God in Christ is governed by 200 jurisdictional prelates in respected geographical areas, and is the largest and fastest growing denomination in the United States with more than 5 million members in all 50 states and 56 countries abroad; and
WHEREAS, Host Reverend James Foster, will join the Church of God in Christ's Board of Bishops in this annual meeting that will include training sessions at William Penn Hotel to improve the bishopric of the church and conclude each night with prayer and fellowship; and
WHEREAS, this conference will give those in attendance the opportunity to develop skills that will allow them to continue their work as a Bishop in the flourishing Church of God in Christ.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares the weekend of September 18-21, 2006 "Church of God in Christ's Bishop's Conference Weekend" in the City of Pittsburgh.
