Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates Eagle Scout Jonathan Alexander on his recent achievement and commends him for his accomplishments.

      WHEREAS, Jonathan Alexander, son of Ginger and Wayne Alexander, is a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 66, Chartiers District, Greater Pittsburgh Council; and
 
      WHEREAS, Jonathan Alexander will be honored at a Ceremony on Monday, June 7, 2004 at the Sheraden Community Presbyterian Church located at 3105 Allendale Street in the neighborhood of Sheraden; and
 
WHEREAS, Jonathan Alexander earned the rank of Eagle Scout on March 24, 2004; and
 
WHEREAS, Jonathan Alexander's Eagle Scout Project benefited the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society along with 10 low income families; and
 
      WHEREAS, Jonathan Alexander's Eagle Scout Project involved procuring materials and organizing volunteers to build ten dog houses for the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society; and
 
WHEREAS, with Jonathan's leadership, 10 low income families who adopt a dog from the Western Pennsylvania Humane Society will receive doghouses for their new pets; and
 
      WHEREAS, only those young men, who have been outstanding in scouting, have the esteem of their community and fellow scouts and serve in a position of responsibility and leadership obtain Eagle Scout status, the highest rank in the boy scouts.
