WHEREAS, The Diocese of Pittsburgh and the Department for Catholic Schools have designated Thursday, November 20, 2003 as Principal Appreciation Day throughout the Catholic schools in the United States ;and
WHEREAS, Principals have a valuable relationship with their students to educate their minds and continually lead them to academic excellence; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gwendolyn Young has faithfully provided 10 tireless years of service as Principal of Holy Rosary School and is recognized for demonstrating outstanding leadership that ensures that the purpose of the life of each student is revealed, enhanced and prepared for the future. Whose goal ensures that no child is left behind; and
WHEREAS, It is acknowledged that Mrs. Young has made herself accessible and visible to her student body thus demonstrating both inspirational leadership and perseverance.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby recognize and commend Mrs. Gwendolyn Young, Principal of Holy Rosary School for being a valuable asset to our school system by ensuring the educational and spiritual growth of the students of the 9th Council District, thus empowering the future leaders of the City of Pittsburgh with knowledge.
