Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1.                     The Mayor and the Director of the Department of City Planning are hereby authorized to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Natural Resource Defense Council in support of the Food Matters Regional Initiative. The Project is an initiative to reduce food waste by partnering with cities to intentionally integrate strategies to advance food waste prevention, surplus food rescue, and recycling of food scraps. The partnership between NRDC and the City will support bold solutions that can be replicated by other municipalities nationwide and around the world to advance local economic prosperity and reduce pollution.

Section 2.                     Said Agreement or Agreements shall be approved by the City Solicitor as to form and substance.
