Title

Resolution authorizing the Mayor and Director of the Department of City Planning to amend and renew the Agreement with Kloopify to provide a sustainable procurement platform software solution for a sum not to exceed Twenty-Four Thousand ($24,000) dollars for one year, whereafter it will be put out to bid.

Body

WHEREAS, PGH Lab had undertaken a six-month pilot test of these services and then signed a in conjunction with the Department of City Planning, Sustainability and Resilience Division proving the validity of services and confirming integration capabilities of a sustainable procurement platform;

 

WHEREAS, following the pilot the City contracted with Kloopify for one year to set up a sustainable procurement platform.

 

WHEREAS, the adoption of a sustainable procurement platform increases visibility and integrates carbon emission data into every day procurement process; and

 

WHEREAS, a sustainable procurement platform also empowers departments to develop a data-driven strategy to reduce emissions from procurement and work with supply chain partners to purchase more environmentally sustainable goods and services;

 

WHEREAS, the sustainable procurement platforms helps advance the City of Pittsburgh’s Climate Action Plan’s objective of improving waste related data quality to reduce emissions and determine key areas of economic development that could provide local alternatives to previously imported goods;

 

Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

 

Section 1.   On behalf of the City of Pittsburgh the Director of the Department of City Planning is hereby authorized to amend and renew purchasing agreement or agreement(s) with Kloopify for a sustainable procurement software at a cost not to exceed Twenty-Four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00) chargeable and payable from account 11101.110000.53.53509.2024.
