WHEREAS, Perry Athletic Association (PAA) has been around for more than 50 years and is one of the oldest little league organizations in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania located in Observatory Hill on the North Side of the City of Pittsburgh; and
WHEREAS, the PAA 11-12 year old Little League team is instructed by head Coach Maurice Gordon, Assistant Coach John O'Leary, and Assistant Coach Devlin Eddens; and
WHEREAS, the PAA 11-12 year old Little League team has won all four playoff games beginning with win number one against the Northgate Sidewinders by a score of 10-0, win number two against Brighton Heights Red by a score of 6-1, and win number three against Brightwood by a score of 12-1; and
WHEREAS, on Friday, June 30, 2006 at Garvin Field the PAA 11-12 year old Little League team won playoff game number four, the Championship title against Brightwood by a score of 3-1; and
WHEREAS, the PAA 11-12 year old Little League team has compiled a season record of 17 wins and only 2 loses; and
WHEREAS, the team consist of the following enthusiastic, hard working young men beginning with Keven Gordon, Ken Strothers, Bobby Helms, Justin Luff, Phillip Bova, Deon Wells, David O'Leary, Jamil Smith, Jimmy Mueller, Joshua Eddens, Gregg Wood and Delmar Kirkland.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates the Perry Athletic Association 11-12 year old Little League baseball team on a triumphant season and extends the best of luck to the team as they continue onto the Mayor's Cup tournament finals; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares Tuesday, July 18, 2006 "Perry Athletic Association 11-12 year old Little League Baseball Team Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
