Resolution authorizing and directing the Police Department of the City of Pittsburgh to provide a presentation and a complete report to City Council on the City of Pittsburgh Community Oriented Police Program.
 
Body
Be it resolved that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby enacts as follows:
 
Section 1.      The City of Pittsburgh Police Department is authorized and directed to present to City Council a complete report on the Community Oriented Police (COP) Program.  The presentation is to include, but not be limited to, a definition of the COP Program, the number of COP officers and which City Neighborhoods receive COP officers, and the manner in which the officers receive COP assignments.  It should also state the COP Program's goals and objectives, responsibilities and duties, and how the Program interacts with block watches, business organizations and other community groups.  The report should define the interaction of COP officers with other City Departments and County, State and Federal agencies and departments.  In addition, the presentation should include an assessment of the COP Program including its strengths and shortcomings and a forecast of the Program's future.
 
Section 2.      The presentation and a complete report shall be made to Pittsburgh City Council within thirty (30) days of final passage of this resolution.
