Title
Resolution providing for the implementation of the Residential Parking Permit Program (RPPP) Area “DD” in the Southside community (Council District #3) pursuant to Pittsburgh Code Chapter 549.

Body
WHEREAS, portions of the Southside Community (Council District #3) have petitioned the City in accordance with established procedures and

WHEREAS, the City Planning Department has undertaken a parking study which determined that the proposed area is eligible for residential permit parking and

WHEREAS, a parking management plan has been prepared by the City Planning Department and a hearing has been held on it by the Pittsburgh City Planning Commission and

WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission on November 9, 2004, recommended the plan,

Be it resolved by the council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:

Section 1. As provided by the Pittsburgh City Code, Chapter 549, entitled “Residential Parking Permit Program”, a parking management plan is adopted as follows:

For the Area bounded by: South 17th Street between Jane Street and its southern terminus; South 18th Street between Jane Street and Edwards Way; South 19th Street between Jane Street and Mary Street; South 20th Street between Harcum Way and Mary Street; Harcum Way between South 17th Street and South 20th Street; Mary Street Between South 17th Street and South 20th Street; and Edwards Street between South 17th Street and South 20th Street.

That motorized vehicle parking shall be restricted to a two (2) hour time limit between the hours of 7:00 a.m. -- 700 p.m., Monday through Friday except where existing parking restrictions may exist and vehicles displaying a valid Area “DD” residential or visitors' pass and;

that residential parking permits be sold only to legal residents or a person who owns or leases commercial property and actively engaged in a business on property fronting or abutting the above mentioned streets and;
