WHEREAS, Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Incorporated, is an internationally recognized leader in the provision of health education, leadership development and service to the community; and,
WHEREAS, Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. was founded under the leadership of Ailene C. Ewell in 1932 at Freedman's Hospital School of Nursing, Washington, DC in order to: develop a corps of nursing leaders; encourage continuing education; continuously recruit nursing and health professionals; stimulate a close and friendly relationship among members; and develop working relationships with other professional groups; and,
WHEREAS, the states and respective chapters of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. are divided into six regions: Northeast, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest, Middle south and Middle West. As of 2016, the Northeast region had 29 active graduate chapters and 17 active undergraduate chapters. Kappa Chapter is part of the Northeast region; and,
WHEREAS, the 66th Conference and Educational Workshops is to be hosted by the Northeast region, Incorporated of Chi Eta Phi Sorority by Kappa Chapter Inc. The theme is "Advancing Healthcare through Innovation in Nursing Leadership, Education, Research, and Practice;" and,
WHEREAS, Kappa Chapter Inc., Chi Eta Phi Inc., is an organization of registered professional nurses. It was organized with eleven charter members under the guidance of Hortense Johnson, National Organizer on May 1, 1949 in Pittsburgh, PA; and,
WHEREAS, this year, Kappa chapter has 29 active members:
