Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, to enter into financial Sponsorship Agreements with PNC Bank, Clearview Federal Credit Union, and Citizens Bank for the 2024 City of Pittsburgh Independence Day Festival and Citiparks Summer Concert Series at no cost to the City.

WHEREAS, each summer, the Office of Special Events within the Department of Parks and Recreation presents the City of Pittsburgh Independence Day Festival, an annual festival in Point State Park which celebrates our Nation’s history and independence, and the Summer Concert Series in various parks across the city, which attract guests from around the region and tri-state area; and
WHEREAS, PNC Bank and Clearview Federal Credit Union desire to provide the City with financial sponsorship support for the Independence Day Festival at a value of $10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Dollars) and $8,000.00 (Eight Thousand Dollars) respectively; and
WHEREAS, Citizens Bank desires to support the Citiparks Summer Concert Series and designated associated activities at a value of $10,000.00 (Ten Thousand Dollars); and
WHEREAS, the parties wish to enter into Sponsorship Agreements for the year 2024.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor and the Director of Parks and Recreation are authorized to enter into Financial Sponsorship Agreements with PNC Bank, Clearview Federal Credit Union, and Citizens Bank for the 2024 City of Pittsburgh Independence Day Festival and the Citiparks Summer Concert Series and designated associated activities. The Sponsorship Terms will provide a total value of $28,000.00 (Twenty-Eight Thousand Dollars) to the City to support the Independence Day Festival and Citiparks Summer Concerts series for 2024. All monies from the aforementioned sponsors will be deposited into the Special Events Trust Fund, JDE account: 5000731400.48106.00.
