Title: WHEREAS, Rose Pinsker is celebrating her 90th Birthday on August 18, 2007, with her family and friends at Mitchell's Seafood House; and, WHEREAS, Rose Pinsker was born in the Hill District on August 17, 1917 and has lived in Pittsburgh her entire life in the neighborhoods of The Hill District, Highland Park, and Stanton Heights; and, WHEREAS, Rose Pinsker currently resides in Riverview Towers in Squirrel Hill where she enjoys an independent lifestyle of comfort, companionship, and caring; and, WHEREAS, Rose is an active reader, the editor of the Quaterly newsletter in her building, attends synagogue within her building, and is an active member of B'nai Israel in the East End; and, WHEREAS, Rose was married for 49 glorious years to Nathaniel Pinker until his passing in 1990; and, WHEREAS, Rose has a quaint and loving family of two children, Theodore Pinsker and Marlene Goldstein, two grandchildren, Sharon Goldstein and Alan Goldstein, and four great grandchildren. ...

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize Rose Pinsker for her self sacrificing love and dedication to her family and friends throughout her life; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare August 17, 2007 to be "Rose Pinsker Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
