Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby congratulates Eagle Scout M. Robert Marks on his recent achievements and commends him for all of his accomplishments.

WHEREAS, M. Robert Marks, son of Lucille M. Olszewski and Michael R. Marks, is a member of the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 358 and attained  the rank of Eagle Scout, and was honored at a Ceremony on March 19, 2006 at Coraopolis United Methodist Church; and
 
WHEREAS, his Eagle Scout Project involved recruiting and organizing fifty-seven volunteers who contributed almost 800 hours of service to build an Adirondack shelter at Raccoon Creek State Park in Hookstown, PA; and
 
WHEREAS, with M. Robert's leadership, the construction of the shelter was completed and is available for use by backpackers, day hikers and weekend campers at the "Pioneer" Primitive Camping Area; and
 
WHEREAS, along with accumulating numerous awards and honors, he also received the Venturing Silver Award and the Venturing Ranger Award for being recognized as an "Elite Outdoorsman;" and
 
WHEREAS, only those young men who have been outstanding in scouting, have the esteem of their community and fellow scouts and serve in a position of responsibility and leadership obtain Eagle Scout status, the highest rank in Boy Scouts.
