WHEREAS, Radiant Life Alliance Church, located in the Garfield community of Pittsburgh, provides many valuable programs to our city's youth; and
WHEREAS Radiant Life Alliance Church has served those in need through the spiritual leadership of Pastor Virgil Pinkston and his wife, First Lady Sherlyn Pinkston; and
WHEREAS, Radiant Life Alliance has reached out to youth in the Garfield community for over five years, and offers programs including the summer feeding program, an afterschool program and the Back to School Fun program; and
WHEREAS, the youth of our society represent this city's future, and Pastor Pinkston and Mrs. Pinkston have opened their church facilities to host a successful program entitled Teens on the Move (TOTM); and
WHEREAS under the leadership of founder Mrs. Clementine Smith, Teens on the Move provides a forum for youth to meet with adult mentors who share personal, educational, workplace and spiritual experiences to provide life skills and job readiness training to the young participants.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby recognizes the generosity of Pastor and Mrs. Virgil Pinkston, and all of the volunteers who mentor the youth of the Teens on the Move (TOTM) Program; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council if the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares Sunday, April 18th as "Radiant Life Alliance Church Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
