WHEREAS; the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is celebrating several milestone anniversaries in 2004, including the 65^th Anniversary of the School's founding, the 60^th Anniversary of it's masters program,, and the 50^th Anniversary of it's doctoral program and

WHEREAS, the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing ranks among the top ten graduate programs in U.S. News and World Report; and

WHEREAS, the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing ranks 6^th in NIH funding; and

WHEREAS, the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing today includes over 1000 active students enrolled in undergraduate, master's of science, PhD and RN completion programs; and

WHEREAS, over 8000 alumni of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing practice throughout the United States and in many foreign countries; and

WHEREAS, to recognize these achievements, a weekend-long celebration appropriately entitled "The Voice of Pitt Nursing" is planned for May 14-15, 2004 and will include continuing education presentations, reunion gatherings and cultural and social activities.
