Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Pittsburgh recognizes Hill House Association for its continued outstanding efforts to support Pittsburgh seniors.

Whereas, Hill House Association is sponsoring its annual Senior Holiday Lunch on December 7, 2006.  Senior Services is a path to independent living, an answer to loneliness and an opportunity for seniors to remain in their communities with family and friends.  
 
Whereas, Hill House Association recognizes the needs seniors have for friendship, companionship and social involvement, and Senior Services offers numerous events that keep seniors active and engaged with their community.  
 
Whereas, Hill House Association over the past four decades has provided care and support for more than 500,000 children, adults and seniors living in the urban environments, and more than 70,000 individuals have participated in Hill House programs and outreach.  
 
Whereas, the Hill House serves clients through five strategic program areas; early learning and child development, youth services, family and workforce development, senior services and neighborhood services.  In addition, the agency offers complementary health and human services to its clients through 10 tenant agencies that reside on the Hill House campus.
