Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of City Planning to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with McKay Lodge Conservation Laboratory for conservation and preparation services for the Virgil Cantini Mural relocation project for an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Fifty-One Thousand and Ninety-Three Dollars ($351,093.00).

WHEREAS, the Cantini mosaic is a piece of City-owned artwork formerly installed in a pedestrian underpass below Bigelow Boulevard, and removed during the construction of the I-579 “Cap” Project; and
WHEREAS, being a historically and culturally valuable asset, it was determined that the mosaic should be preserved and reinstalled in a suitable location; and
WHEREAS, the mosaics require restoration and preparation services prior to reinstallation; and
WHEREAS, McKay Lodge Conservation Laboratory is possessed of professional experience and skill uniquely suited for this work.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. Resolution authorizing the Mayor and the Director of City Planning to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with Mckay Lodge Conservation Laboratory for restoration and preparation services for the Virgil Cantini Mural reinstallation project for an amount not to exceed Three Hundred Fifty-One Thousand and Ninety-Three Dollars ($351,093.00)., charging to fund 40022, JDE account 1173400122.53901.00.
Section 2. The agreement shall be in a form approved by the Solicitor.
