Resolution authorizing the Mayor to accept on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh a grant from the Hillman Foundation in the total amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000), and to enter into an agreement or agreements with Jackson/Clark Partners to facilitate, document, and manage Welcoming Pittsburgh's 41-member Advisory Council process.

WHEREAS, the Welcoming America initiative is a national and grassroots-driven collaborative that promotes mutual respect and cooperation between foreign-born and U.S.-born Americans; and
WHEREAS, the goal of Welcoming America is to create a welcoming atmosphere in which immigrants are more likely to integrate in to the social fabric of their adopted hometowns; and
WHEREAS, these grant funds will allow Jackson/Clark Partners to facilitate, document, and manage the 41-member Welcoming Pittsburgh Advisory Council process; and
WHEREAS, Jackson/Clark Partners will identify shared values, vision and priorities for next steps via the development of a comprehensive three-year roadmap of action for the initiative, conduct one-on-one community outreach and listening in up to ten neighborhoods across the city, and document the planning and outreach process to create a rich pool of media for future use.
Be it resolved by the Council of the City of Pittsburgh as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor, on behalf of the City of Pittsburgh, is hereby authorized to accept a grant from the Hillman Foundation in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000). The Mayor is further authorized to use said funds, in an amount not to exceed Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000), to enter into a professional services agreement or agreements with Jackson/Clark Partners to facilitate, document, and manage the process for Welcoming Pittsburgh's 41-member Advisory Council.
