Whereas, Jack O. Evans, Junior is the Grand Worthy Patron of the Order of the Deborah Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliated, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, an organization that is highly spiritual, accepting of all faiths and denominations, and dedicated to the principles of charity, truth, and loving kindness; and
Whereas, Jack O. Evans, Junior's service for the Masons has been untiring and carried out with the utmost dedication, which is reflected in his membership in the St. Cyprian Consistory #4 and the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine and the Holy Royal Arch Masons and in his numerous Masonic awards and certificates; and
Whereas, Jack O Evans, Junior has been entrusted to hold important positions with the Masons, an organization committed to charitable works that improve the quality of life in the City of Pittsburgh and around the world. He was elected Worshipful Master Boas Lodge #65 in 1975, served as District Lecturer of the Seventh O. E. S. District from 1986 to 1994, was elected Scottish Rite Mason of the Year 1998, and was elevated to the 33rd and last degree of a Master Mason in 2000; and
Whereas, Jack O. Evans, Junior is a life long resident of Pittsburgh, a brave patriot who served in the Marine Corps from 1969 to 1971, a spiritual member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, a faithful husband to his wife, Janice, and a dedicated and loving father of 6 children.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does hereby acknowledge and praise the charitable work and community involvement of Jack O. Evans, Junior, Grand Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Chapter.
