WHEREAS, on May 13, 1968, Don Waldorf started his career with the City of Pittsburgh Engineering Department and since then he has served both the City and the Pittsburgh Water & Sewer Authority, always striving to make the City a better place for its residents; and,
WHEREAS, over his 47 years of service, Don has held a variety of titles including chief engineer and deputy director of engineering, putting his whole heart into whatever task he was given; and,
WHEREAS, Don also volunteered with the Spring View Athletic Association for many years, coaching their Pony League team, as well as serving on its board of directors; and,
WHEREAS, Don has had a major impact on the City of Pittsburgh over the last 47 years. His dedication, expertise, and tireless work ethic will be sorely missed; and,
WHEREAS, most importantly Don is the loving husband to Eileen, father to Donny & Dustin, and grandfather to seven grandchildren; and,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend, recognize, and congratulate Don for more than 47 years of service to the people of Pittsburgh; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare April 5th, 2016 to be “Don Waldorf Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.
