Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh commends and thanks Sandra and Louis Kushner for their dedicated years of service to our community and to Israel.

WHEREAS, Israel Bonds is the foremost investment organization in this country for the State of Israel; and

WHEREAS, Attorneys Sandra Reiter Kushner and Louis B. Kushner will be honored by the Legal Division of the Pittsburgh Tri-State Israel Campaign at its 15th Tribute Dinner ; and

WHEREAS, Attorneys Sandra Reiter Kushner and Louis B. Kushner, of the law firm of Rothman Gordon, have distinguished legal careers and are well known for their hard work in Jewish and civic circles; and

WHEREAS, Sandra Reiter Kushner, labor and social security disability lawyer by day, active community worker at all other times, is actively engaged as a volunteer in both the Pittsburgh and Jewish communities, currently serving as President of the American Friends of Israel War Disabled, Vice President/Treasurer of the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Foundation, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania, Member of the Board of Delegates of the United Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, and is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician, as well as having served as President of the Young Lawyers Section of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Taylor Allderdice PTA; and

WHEREAS, Louis B. Kushner, labor lawyer extraordinaire and much sought-after mediator, is also a frequent course planner and lecturer to members of the American and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, prolific author of scholarly articles on legal matters, has been selected as one of the best lawyers in America in every edition since its inception in 1987, is an elected Fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers and has volunteered in leadership capacities for the United Jewish Federation, been the recipient of the Levinson Award for demonstrated leadership in advancing intergroup relations and has chaired Pittsburgh's First Night and the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, among othe...
