Body
Whereas, talented, outspoken, and approachable are words often used to describe LaKeisha Brown (known to her listeners as KiKi), WAMO's on-air personality and host of "The Hit Squad" heard Monday through Friday; and
Whereas, being Sly Jock's daughter, music was a part of her life from the very beginning which allowed her to learn the tricks of the trade from a very early age; and
Whereas, the experience she gained as an intern at WAMO laid the foundation for Kiki to earn the position as the station's Promotions Director. The energy and the love for the station that she has displayed in this position catapulted her career as an on-air talent. Kiki has the top rated show in Pittsburgh appealing to the teen audience; and
Whereas, Kiki's career is on the rise, the job she is most proud of is being a mother to her son, Vaughn. Although being a young, unwed mother was not the life she had planned, she did not let it stop her from accomplishing her goals; and
Whereas, Kiki feels that teaching young people to make wise choices for themselves is very important, but just because you make a mistake doesn't mean you stop pressing forward.  Even though the road will be harder, you can achieve your dreams; and

Whereas, Kiki was born and raised in the City's Hill District.  She has two brothers, a sister and has been in broadcasting for nearly ten years.
