Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare October 17th, 2026 to be “Reverend LaTiece Daniels Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

Body

WHEREAS, Reverend LaTiece L. Daniels is a preacher, teacher, and missions advocate born in Tacoma, Washington, and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was during his formative years in Pittsburgh that his heart for ministry began to develop, along with a special passion for youth and young adults; and,

 

WHEREAS, Reverend Daniels became licensed to preach the Gospel by Second Calvary Baptist Church in Norfolk, Virginia. For four years, Reverend Daniels served as Elder of Missions and Evangelism at Second Calvary Baptist Church, helping to lead local and international mission efforts; and, 

 

WHEREAS, Reverend Daniels is a member of the Tidewater Peninsula Baptist Association, NAACP, and Urban League of Hampton Roads, and a supporter of the Common Ground Foundation, and his service has also extended into denominational and community engagement.; and, 

 

WHEREAS, Reverend Daniels’s journey has now brought him back to the city that helped shape him; and, 

 

WHEREAS, Reverend Daniels has been called to serve as Pastor of St. John the Evangelist Baptist Church in the Hazelwood neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He embraces this sacred assignment with gratitude and humility; and, 

 

WHEREAS, Reverend Daniels shares his life and ministry with his wife, Nina C. Daniels, with whom he celebrated 25 years of marriage in July 2026. Together, they have three sons: Tyrell O. Daniels, Christopher L. Daniels, and Emmanuel Z. Daniels; and, 

 

WHEREAS, Reverend Daniels will now bring to Pittsburgh the same commitments that shaped his ministry: biblical preaching and teaching, evangelism, missions, developing the next generation, and compassionate service; and,
