Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend Detective Dennis Logan for his years of skillful and dedicated service to the Pittsburgh Police Bureau and wish him the best in his new position.

Whereas, Detective Dennis Logan, a 21 year veteran of the Pittsburgh Police Bureau, retired on Monday, December 6th, 2004; and
 
Whereas, after three years as a uniform officer and a year as a burglary detective, Dennis Logan joined the homicide division in 1988, where his incisive investigative skills, tireless work ethic, and his impressive ability to elicit confession have earned him recognition as a excellent detective; and
 
Whereas, Detective Logan has worked on over 800 murder cases in his career and did so with such success that he received numerous awards including the bureau's "Officer of the Year" award in 1998; and
 
Whereas, Detective Logan's influence will continue to positively effect the homicide division through the lessons and advice he imparted to young officers; and
 
Whereas, Dennis Logan will continue to serve the region and work to ensure justice as an investigator for Allegheny County District Attorney Stephan A. Zappala, Jr.; and
 
Whereas, Dennis Logan is a loving husband and father; he and his wife Dayle have been together since the eleventh grade and have three children, Denytra, Dakeya, and Dennis, Jr.
