WHEREAS, Paradise Grey solidified his position in hip hop history as a member of the early 1990’s conscious rap group X Clan, which catapulted Mr. Grey into the beginning stages of becoming a curator of hip hop culture, doing promotion, songwriting, producing, and being an emcee and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Grey wrote a book, “No Half Steppin” an oral and pictorial history of the Latin Quarter, he also spearheaded the TV show Hip-Hop Treasures on (A&E), and also working on the Universal Hip-Hop Museum in the South Bronx of New York and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and congratulate “Claude Paradise Grey” for his commitment to hip-hop history, culture, and music. It also marks the 35th anniversary of the X clan album “To the East Blackwards) and,
