Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, recognizes and commends the Greater Pittsburgh Council Boy Scouts of America for their efforts and awareness of the challenges that that we face in order to produce successful young men and women that benefit the commonwealth of our community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, the Greater Pittsburgh Council Boy Scouts of America Scoutreach declares Saturday, February 5th, 2004 "the Greater Pittsburgh Council Boy Scouts of America Scoutreach" day in the City of Pittsburgh.

Whereas, on Saturday, February 5, 2005, the Greater Pittsburgh Council Boy Scouts of America, Scoutreach Committee will host the 16th Annual Whitney M. Young, Jr. Service Awards Dinner located at the Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel; and    
 
Whereas, the Greater Pittsburgh Council Boy Scouts of America has recruited strong adult leaders and help to develop solid relationships with chartered organizations in urban and rural communities to ensure that culturally diverse youth have the opportunity to join; and
 
Whereas, the Greater Pittsburgh Council Boy Scouts of America strive to instill values that are based on the Boy Scout Oath and Law. Their intent is to enable the targeted population access to the unique opportunities offered through the scouting program; and
 
Whereas, the Boy Scouts of America's goal is to foster growth of community potential by working through schools, churches, and homes; and
 
Whereas, the Boy Scouts of America have pledged to play a key role in combating five unacceptables in society: Drug Abuse, Illiteracy, Child Abuse, Unemployment, and Hunger. Scouting in the Pittsburgh Council is committed to confronting these problems facing our community and our nation; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, recognizes and commends the Greater Pittsburgh Council Boy Scouts of America for their efforts and awareness of the challenges that that we face in order to produce successful young men and women that benefit the commonwealth of our community.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, the Greater Pittsburgh Council Boy Scouts of America Scoutreach declares Saturday, February 5th, 2004 "the Greater Pittsburgh Council Boy Scouts of America Scoutreach" day in the City of Pittsburgh.
