WHEREAS, the H.Y.P.U. of the Original Churches of God or Sanctified Church, Inc. has created opportunities for our young African-American students in our body to receive recognition and scholarships through our Annual H.Y.P.U. Convocation; and
WHEREAS, The H.Y.P.U. of the Original Churches of God or Sanctified Church, Inc. National June Convocation was designed to encourage a greater number of young people to grasp a hold of their spirituality, education, self worth and to enjoy fellowship with their peers and take ownership of their communities and encourage similar efforts in African-American communities nationwide; and
WHEREAS, The H.Y.P.U. of the Original Churches of God or Sanctified Church, Inc. National June Convocation will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel located in the Pittsburgh International Airport from June 25, 2008-June 29, 2008; and

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby recognize and commend The H.Y.P.U. of the Original Churches of God or Sanctified Church, Inc. for their efforts to enhance the quality of life for youth and adults alike as they empower communities and change lives.
