WHEREAS, Sweet Dreams Childcare, located in Sheraden, is one of Pittsburgh's few 24-hour licensed childcare provider; and,
WHEREAS, after being laid off as an administrative assistant, Nicole King decided to live out her passion for children and opened Sweet Dreams Childcare in the fall of 2006; and,
WHEREAS, being a single mother, Nicole saw firsthand the need for a daycare focusing on the single mother with non-traditional work/school hours and after just two months of opening she turned her home-based childcare center into a 24 hour operation; and,
WHEREAS, by 2011 Nicole expanded her business to include childcare during special events, offering wedding sitters and are even available for overnight and weekend care; and,
WHEREAS, Sweet Dreams Childcare not only goes beyond the traditional childcare by providing 24 hour care, but also by instilling Christian values and training children to become the best that they can be; and,

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby commend Nicole King and Sweet Dreams Childcare for providing creative childcare solutions in a healthy and safe environment for parents and guardians with non-traditional work or school hours; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh does hereby declare Tuesday, September 24, 2013, to be "Sweet Dreams Childcare Day" in the City of Pittsburgh.
