• Title: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognizes Rachel Rothenberg for her knowledge and skill in winning the Jeopardy! 2009 Teen Tournament and for her generosity in donating to local charities; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh hereby declares December 1, 2009, “Rachel Rothenberg Day” in the City of Pittsburgh.

WHEREAS, Rachel Rothenberg is the winner of the Jeopardy! 2009 Teen Tournament; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Rothenberg bested 14 other competitors in 10 episodes that were taped over two days; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Rothenberg plans to split a portion of her $75,000 prize winnings between the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and the Sixth Presbyterian Church of Pittsburgh; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Rothenberg is a 17 year old senior at Pittsburgh CAPA 6-12; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Rothenberg resides in Squirrel Hill with her parents, Susan and Mitch, and her brother, David.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Council of the City of Pittsburgh recognizes Rachel Rothenberg for her knowledge and skill in winning the Jeopardy! 2009 Teen Tournament and for her generosity in donating to local charities; and
