• Title: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Pittsburgh, does herby recognize and commend Harry Rose for fulfilling the role of father and friend for the many children who need the extra love and attention.

WHEREAS, Harry Rose, or "Bopeep" as he is affectionately called, has so steadfastly and selflessly dedicated himself to the care of the young throughout the city that he is seen as a surrogate father to as many as 75 children and has helped countless others; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rose has been one of the most respected members of the East Hills Community and its Center since 1980, where he now spends 5 hours a day or more working at the after school program; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rose has provided food, clothing, and furniture to disadvantaged children and families, which is of incalculable monetary value, but seen as priceless by those who received it; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rose's generosity, commitment, and community impact has been so great that he was a recipient of the 1993 Outstanding Citizens Jefferson Award; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Rose, a member of the Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, is an exemplary father figure who provides guidance and shows love, not only to his family but to so many other families; and
